Our Ranch Manager

Born and raised in New Orleans, John was educated by the Jesuits, and is a 1995 graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Hotty Toddy!

Post graduation (like three days post), John moved to the Dallas area to begin a career in information technology. John's first job with Microsoft launched a twenty-six year career during which he held a multitude of leadership positions, obtaining a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way.

Having developed a great interest in wine, John completed the Viticulture and Enology program offered by Grayson College. In 2021, John got the opportunity to put his education into practice at Hidden Hangar, assisting in final pruning that year. The vineyard, as it turns out, was a cunning siren...

John worked as the Operations Manager of Hidden Hangar Vineyard and Winery until July 2025.

Leading the transition from winery to ranch operations, John has taken on the role of Ranch Manager at Hidden Hangar Ranch, and is working to expand livestock operations, develop new farming programs, and establish efficient, low-cost farm management protocols. 

A cross between Rip Wheeler and Eb Dawson, John brings the passion and dedication necessary to implement a successful livestock program, and to establish a regenerative farming philosophy.
